I always wondered why some scanners did the colors justice and others looked faded and missed. You just answered the question. CCD works.

I have an Epson V200 that I picked up cheap years ago, Does nice scans and high enough quality. 4800 dpi native resolution which is more than enough for chips. Maybe 16 times more than needed.
