Mel once requested chips for a wall display at Leo's place, so I sent him a box of European jetons and plaques that would cover a three-foot square. In return, Mel sent me a box of Brass Core chips that he said I will probably not see anywhere else; all special colors and designs that I still have not seen anywhere else.
That gift was special to me, because in the box was included a phrase by Mel's mother; something she told him when he was a child... and something very, very close to what my mother told me when I was a child.
