Is 5-card draw poker (Jacks-or-Better or Lowball) being dealt in any poker rooms anymore?
I'm referring to the version with 53-card deck, including a "bug" (a Joker which can be used as an Ace, or to fill a straight or flush).
I started my poker playing days about 30 years ago in the Gardena cardrooms where these were the ONLY two games allowed, prior to hold'em, etc. becoming legal later on. I haven't visited the CA cardrooms in years, but I suspect these games are gone. Also gone in Nevada, where they never were as popular as stud varieties.
In looking at the WSOP offerings, the closest I saw to a 5-card draw game is some Deuce-to-Seven lowball, which doesn't use the bug/joker.
In summary, is it R.I.P. for the "bug"? Gone the way of Faro and other discontinued games?
