I our home game cards play, but a mucked hand is dead. There has never been a hand mucked which inadvertently landed face up, and would have been a winner. Dont know how the players would approach it, from the 'fairness' perspective, or the home game rules perspective.

As host, I would enforce our rules, but allow the 'winner' to give any portion of the pot to the mucked hand. I would also tell the players for the 1000th time that if you just table your hand face up, the other players will call your hand and tell you whether you have won.

this is critical when playing Omaha or Omaha/8 with newbies.
