Hello & Happy Holidays!

Can anyone refer a reputable gold coin buyer in Orange County area. My girlfriend received a 1987 gold eagle as a holiday bonus and would rather cash. Secondly, if I just go to a "gold buyer" will I get any value for the coin and/or its mintage. The coin is not slabbed or graded, but is in very good condition in original box from usmint. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
