I witnessed a FIRST for me yesterday. I was running errands and stopped by a local Chinese buffet to eat. I was by myself and was talking my time, shortly after I was seated two large black women came in with one child each in tow. The boys looked to be about 6 years old or so and were sporting baseball caps and a sports team shirt. They all ate and the boys ate in a bit of a hurry. Once the boys had finished one mother told her son to go get (not sure of the name, a brother I assume) and to be sure and change shirts and cap. I watched the kid walk outside, get into a van and another kid emerge from the van wearing the same cap and shirt. He came in and walked through the buffet line as though HE was the same kid as the one who left. Minutes later the other woman had her son do the same thing. I heard one boy say, “Momma dey gonna’ know.’ To which she replied, “We all look da same to dos Chinese people, go get yo food an shutup.”
It worked. No one noticed except me I suppose. It was a neat trick, one I had never seen used before. At least I never noticed it before!
