Archie, boy are you being nice today. You must be suffering from holidayitis.
I value professional opinions, the question is WHO are the professionals?
It seems that none of the grading companies want to share that information with us.
When a rare piece of art is sold it is not accompanied by some worthless piece of paper known as a certificate of authenticity. There is provenance and schooled experts who voice their opinions. While this system is by no means foolproof, it certainly gives the work a degree of credibility.
Who are the schooled experts on chips? Did the just materialize overnight?
Although i'm TOTALLY against slabbing this at least would lend an air of legitimacy ,so why won't they tell us who these people are.
To me this is like hiring an interior decorator to tell you what your tastes are.
Remember when you purchase a slabbed item you pay a dear premium. You may or may not recover your investment. We chippers for most part collect for the love of the hobby not the invetment potential. When all the smoke clears who is the one that makes the money... The slabbers.
How do ytou see this benefiting the hobby???? I said hobby not business.
