Have you tried re-installing Microsoft Office? Just wonder if a component is missing. Otherwise I would be looking at OpenOffice. www.openoffice.org I have been using OpenOffice since 2004. I still have MS Office, but I prefer to use OpenOffice for some tasks, such as word processing.

Another alternative is Google Documents, great online Office program that is underrated.
