It should have read: We all know "that" Archie...
and not "We all know 'why' Archie..."
To respond to your question: What does Virginia
Quarters have to do with chips...especially that we
have no case history to compare a slabbed chip with
a slabbed quarter? We have no idea at this time if
any slabbed chips will be the downfall of our hobby
and club as some have suggested. Yet you want to
ban a collector who may be in the market for such
material from inspecting such at our functions.
All I hear is money, money, money. We're all adults; if you see something out
there you don't like simply turn away. No one is
forcing anyone into buying anything. If you can't
afford it, then don't knock it and simply stay
within your means.
We've got "LE" chips that are three ours old that
have sold for 10X face; we knock it, yet collectors
buy them. All the power to them.
I'll be point blank with you, too, Arche: It will
not be a happy day when our hobby and club start
imposing bans on what type of chips are not welcomed
at our functions.
And no, Archie did not impose the ban all by himself, but I
think you and every one else realizes
this...which isn't that importantant, anyway, but I
needed to interject the force of banning something
that is so closely related to our hobby since our
club is a club member of the A.N.A.
