I presented the chip at the casino cage and asked for the casino cage supervisor to identify it for me. Upon showing the chip to the supervisor he said; "sure, wait right here and I'll get someone to help you" Next thing we knew the Security Supervisor was escorting Brenda and me to the back of the building for an "interview". I gave him my business card and explained that I was an avid researcher and author of a catalog on Atlantic City Casino Chips & Gaming Tokens and wanted to know the background of this chip that I purchased at a local flea market.

The DGE (Division of Gaming Enforcement) was notified and we were requested to wait until they came from another building. After 20 minutes or more, I told the supervisor that we could not wait any longer as we were already late for dinner and had show tickets for that evening. I asked for the return of my chip and my request was denied. When asked "Why" ... the cage supervisor said that the chip was never in play and should not have been available to leave the casino ... so somebody had to be an accomplice in order for it to leave Trump Plaza. At this point, I told the Security supervisor to either charge me with a crime or I'm leaving. Brenda and I got up and started heading for the door ... while the supervisor was pleading with us to wait a little longer for the DGE representative to arrive.
