I think you might be over reacting to the slabbing issue. I also collect coins and slabbing a coin runs anywhere from $15.00 to $40.00 per depending on the level and speed of service. I doubt that very many collectors including myself will be willing to pay the additional charge that would be added to the selling price of the chip or token. Banning the whole process seems to me like an over kill. If the collector is not willing to pay the additional charge then slabbing will not be accepted. The records that the US Mint has lists the exact number of coins that were minted for most of the US Coins so the maximun number that "could exist" are a known. Many of these were melted down during the period of high silver prices but a new find does turn up now and then. What would be the basis for the population of Chips or Tokens. Our reference books can't always agree on that number so how will "IGC" or any slabbing service determine the known population of any chip or token? I guess I just have a problem with being told I can't do something even if I don't want to do it. May be it's a carry over from the sixties. Sorry for the long post.
