While I am happy you and Chrles both reconsidered as I am with any member who decides to continue being a member, I honestly dont see any correlation to the .
Over the past few years I have seen lots of similar posts. People stating that they have decided to quit the club over something that someone said or did, even if it was done by a non member.
What on earth does that have to do with the ?
Is it because the person that said whatever they said was a member?
What if you found out that the same person did exactly what you did for a living. Would you then quit your job and seek employment in a different field?
What if you foiund out that the person lived in your same state? Would you then pack up and move?
What if you found out that you both shared the same religion or political beliefs. Would you abandon everything you believe in because something someone said that happened to be part of the same religion as you?
See how absurd it all sounds?
There are lots of real reasons to quit.
You dont agree with the club direction
You lost interest in collecting
You no longer have the the finances to continue collecting
You dont find it challenging enough
Those are reasons I could understand.
But when people say they are quitting the club over something someone said, or in this case a rumor that it seems 99% of the people on this board have never heard, I just cant understand.
Please know that this is not personal and I mean no offense to you, but it is so similar to so many other posts I have seen by others, I just had to say it again.
Hope to meet you at the convention one day,
Doug
