To have a rule which turns that fumble recovery, under those circumstances, into a safety for the team that fumbled is even DUMBER than I originally thought. And why it would be treated differently than an interception is just incomprehensible.

I'd be willing to bet that this rule gets changed by the competition committee before the start of next season.

And, you're probably right -- whatever led to the rules probably DID involve the Raiders. Somehow, they always seem to be in the middle of these things! <g>
