Like someone else said, if you have a car and time, take the trip to Carson City via Virginia City and Silver City down 341. It's a pretty and scenic ride through the mountains, the towns all have history and charm, there are a few small casinos you can hit. Shoot back right up 395 into Reno. Nice loop. Once you see the roads and the views you may agree that one of the best things to do in Reno is leave Reno.
