Hi Doug, What he has pictured is what you are suppose to get. If he had a statue and said you will receive a replica he can not take a picture of it and paste it on to a flat piece of ceramic. I am buying 4 replica chips and they better have the same molds (and I mean indented) as what is shown. Otherwise the guy can just cancel my transaction, which would be the easy way, and refund my PayPal payment.
Obviously all pictures shown on eBay are 2 dimensional. But if I were to have a matchbox car, one of the 1st ten ever made and say these are replicas and past that onto to a piece of paper and send it to you, would you accept that?

A replica is a copy that is relatively indistinguishable from the original. which are a copy used for historical purposes.
You think taking a picture then pasting it on any round object would qualify?
If he did this with Gold coins and said replica what would be the difference? I guess the gold coin is a much better example since it is round and had texture. Would you accept a picture pasted on to a piece of ceramic?
