When I first started collecting and found mostly design clay chips, I cleaned them with a mild detergent, dried them, rubbed on a light coat of vegetable oil; wiped that off and put them into my folders. Then as I began collecting casino chips took the suggestion of many to leave them as I found them. Second, even though I thoroughly dried the oiled clays, after a time, the color started to attach to the plastic flips. So I stopped doing that for all my chips. As a result my C&S chips on my home page look pretty bad in comparison to Rich's beauties..but mine are as I found them. I have no quarrel with those who improve "the lie" and improve the appearance of their chips, however.
