Kendall's primary focus was about Chipco's then breakthrough of RF-ID loads (or embedments) being made successfull. He brought along some examples that were closely watched. The trick at that time was inserting the electronics of that time's RF-ID technology into a hot, molten disk of silicone ceramic without doing damage to the embedment!
During the Q & A I asked about the UV tagging because it seemed useless to have done only the $1 chips and why would the Luxor want to pay additional for the anti-counterfeiting for the lowest denomination? The answer was that it was Chipcos testing of the manufacturing process. It allowed them to test with multiple layouts and not give a buyer the anti-counterfeiting capability on a product that would have been usefull to them, like on a higher denomination.
