I received the headstone pictures with an update from Carol and asked if I could post them for the board and she said yes. I thought this would be a great time to also show pictures from Greg's get together at the Palms. I have added my own pictures from the Palms and from the 2010 convention. If you have some pictures please add them to this post. Greg and his family will always be in my life.
Below is the note from Carol
Hey Guys, how ya doin'?
Family update:
Robert is living in the dorms at Wichita State and likes things so far. He has a swimming class, so that should be an easy grade for him! He's in the midst of a bunch of friends, and with dorms being crowded, he doesn't stand a chance at being lonely.
I've enrolled in college to finish up my bachelor's. Going to Newman University , a Catholic school, where the degree is called "interdisciplinary". It's made for folks like me who've had some college and a lot of work experience. I have 24 hrs to finish up and may be able to chop a little more off that due to work experience. In any event, the emphasis will be in theology and secondarily business. Would like to be able to approach a masters in theology in less than 2 years; we'll see. At least, for the moment, this will keep me off the streets and out of the bars!
Love to you all and my best to all the chippers.

I've attached pictures of the headstone. I purchased the stone in black as I thought it looked classy and is something Greg would have picked out himself. If you read the text on the back side of the stones, you'll think I had money to burn and wrote a book. Actually, I mimicked what Greg's mother had written on her parents' stones, but was slightly less verbose. Not only do I like the idea of the history being there, but his parents' names referenced on it tie it to his grandparents' stones where his mother's name is listed. This will only matter to someone doing some genealogy work, but I thought it important for posterity's sake.
Lauren is now in her apartment in Omaha and has traveled to ID, WA, WY, and IA already. She loves her job and is right in her element.
I was lucky to have many fun chippers stop by my table to say hi. Enjoy but you just might get tiried of my face. Big fun for all.
