Garage sale treasures

I found two old poker chips in Northern Ky. today. I've been looking for a Phoenix Club chip made by USPC. I like the local chips. I always ask people at garage sales if they have old poker chips. This time I asked a guy and he said yeah, there's a bag of them downstairs. His mom overheard me and said there not for sale, my sister wants them. I thought oh well too bad, too sad. I asked what they looked like. The guy said they were old. They were his Grandfathers. Wait, and I'll let you look at them. When he brought the plastic bag out I got excited and sad at the same time. The lady said they weren't for sale. He spread them out on a table and there were a few white, one yellow Phoenix Club chips. One one white LGC that some one started to mess around with a knife one onside. It's the one I got. It's not too bad. There were a bunch of old common inlaid chips. I asked if they had duplicates if I could buy some. The lady said OK, if there were extras. There was quite a pile of chips, 150 or so. I bought two I didn't think they would miss. They didn't actually have dupes of these two but, I offered $5 each and they seemed happy with that. One thing I've found out about yard sales....You can never judge a book by it's cover. Often you want to drive right by but, that could be a mistake grin You absolutely never know who might have old chips.
