One bit of Hurricane advice hardly ever mentioned

~~~ and that's DO NOT GO OUTSIDE; especially to check a tree or trying to bring in outdoor furniture when heavy gusts kick up... or simply taking a look at the condition of your roof, and that's because of flying debris such as stones or slivers of cut glass that are flying thru the air at 100+ mph.
I've noticed pieces of glass (and even nails) embedded in some of my wood trim thru the years.
One tip to help avoid broken window glass flying into the house (for those w/o shutters) is to apply strips of duct tape in strip patterns over the glass surface. This will not prevent the glass from breaking, but it'll sure help drop it to the floor in taped, contained clumps if it should fall within.
Hope all in Earl's path remain safe...
...and may the Lord look after our wildlife and livestock.
