While sorting several Four Queens quarters, I spotted a color variation to a DIECAR chip. While TCR 12 may list both, TCR 11 only lists one DIECAR quarter and it is listed as brown. I have four DIECAR examples and I looked at each a bit closer. Two are like NEW and are the same shade of brown. One of them is shown as the chip on the right in the scan below. I obtained this chip (the two of them actually) a short time ago in a trade here on TheChipBoard. Either one is an excellent up-grade to the chip in the middle scan.

However, the chip in the middle has a different hot-stamp than the chip on the right, but it's the same hot-stamp as the chip on the left, which is a lighter shade of brown.

While the shade differential can be a tough call as to whether or not it is a different chip, or a variation, however, the hot-stamp die difference makes a stronger case.
