As VP of the Greater Houston chapter I see a very good example.
The majority of our members are not members and if you ask them, they wouldnt want to be. They have no interest in chips outside the Galveston area, they will never make a convention, and for them, there is not a whole lot of benefit to being a club member. I can see a lot of local chapters where that would be the case.
If we would have forced all those people to be members of the in order to belong to the local clubs we would have lost many of those members.
While I support the 100% and always will, to me it is more important to keep people in the hobby than it is to convert them to members. Without collectors we would never have a club.
