Jim,
I am not questioning your or anyone else's practices, nor do I want to suggest that your practices or anyone else's practices should be controlled by a third party.
All I am trying to do is set up guidelines that would avoid unpleasent situations down the road.
This is not a perfect world, sometimes you do not have the opportunity to resolve all the issues before a transaction is completed. For both the benefit of the buyer and the seller, unresolved shipping charges is not something that should stop a transaction from occuring.
Sometimes I am just coming in from someplace and I check eBay and find a chip I want with the auction ending in a couple of hours. The shipping charges are not clear, I email the seller and do not get a response prior to the auction ending time. Now, if I win this auction, I am open to any charges that the seller may impose. It would be better for both the seller and the buyer if there were guidelines that applied to this transaction to resolve any issues.
