One cage worker didnt know this and sold us a stack of 20. We only asked for a couple for our sets, and she said we had to buy at least 20. We accepted. As far as I know, these 20 are the only survivors as they were never used on the tables, and that issue is now obsolete.
I borrowed the $100 pic from the chipguide page, the 50 cent is next to it. You can see why they nixed the 50: If a dealer wasnt on the ball, a 50 cent might pass for a 100 as they are darker blue than the scan shows, and would be undectable from a cameres' view. Similar color chip with similar color inserts. The same reason the California in Las Vegas QUICKLY changed the current issue $1 chip from blue to white when it came out.
