... way for the board to accomplish the goals and objectives of the club. Working together as a team during the election, it seems to me, is the best way for the four of us to put ourselves in a position to do that.

The plain fact is, many members of the club do not know most or perhaps any of the candidates. Knowing that some candidates share common opinions and hopes for the progress of the club -- and which candidates believe they can work together to achieve appropriate goals -- may be exactly the information a particular member needs to help decide which individual should receive his or her vote for a particular office.

That would be an unfortunate and, as far as I'm concerned, unwarranted impression. We ARE all members of the club. From what I've seen and read, all of the candidates who have expressed opinions on club issues appear to have the best interests of the club in mind. Obviously, we don't all agree on all issues (just as Neal, Marty, Ralph & I do not agree on everything). But, I am confident that no matter who wins any particular office, the new board members will come together with a positive attitude toward each other.

I couldn't agree more. If I am elected president, I will do everything I can to see that the new board, regardless of its composition, works together for the betterment of the club. I am also confident that if I am not elected, Neal, Marty and Ralph will, if they are elected, do the same for whichever of the other candidates for president happens to win.
