I was wondering where the cross sticks design on number chips came from. The Missouri Athletic Club used that design feature around the turn of the century. In the 1904 photo of the ball team they have the M in cross sticks on the uniforms. When did chip makers start using them on numeral chips? Are the cross stick numerals MAC chips? It's kind of a which came first....the chicken or the egg question.
