WSOP main event sucess story
Last night at The Lake (Lake Elsinore casino) I player poker with Rudy Miller, who had won a seat playing at the lake 200.00 buy-in Tour in April. He is a great guy my age owns a machine shop in Norco CA. Plays 2-3 times a week at the lake. They a banner of congrats, and a large cake in honor of his good finish in the main event. This was the first time plaing in the WSOP, he is a good local player, much like many of our club players. Anyway, he finished 61st, and made 138,000.00. Told me, when they were down to 8 tables, about 80 players he had a real bad beat, that cost him a good shot at the final table. He had about 4 million in chips, held AA flop came A44, he went all in one player call with 3.5 million chips. He lost to 4-4's, with a win he has 7.5 million chips and a good shot at final table. But, he was very happy to finish ahead of 7,200 players. He had basically good cards for day's went all in 9 times and won 8 times. The old AA bad beat got him finally. He said the 12 hr. days were rough on an old guy, but total fun the entire experience. I asked him if he harvested any chips, he didn't know what I was talking about, I explained I was a chiop chip collector and these chip will be highly sought after. He said they repeatly told all players if caught taking chips, they will be out of Tour and banned from other events. So, I guess no one what want to risk the penalty, unless they were going out with a low chip count. Not bad result for a 200.00 investment. All poker players dream.
