I found this old shot of the strip northward from Flamingo Rd. and spotted something that gave me a brainlock.
I hope you all can see everything the shot OK, but at the very bottom, on the strip is a construction site with a banner reading Barbary Coast.

I know that BC opened in 1979, and figured this pic was likely taken 1978, but if you look up the street a bit, the Flamingo Capri is easily visible, which became Imperial Palace in 1976.

My question is, are my dates wrong, or did the BC do a kinda Echelon Place thing..... Start up construction, and stop before finishing, or did they just hire a very slow contractor, putting this pic back pre '75? It doesnt seem like it would have taken very long to build the 7 story Barbary Coast.
