This picture is real-not doctored in any way-and was taken last week in Waldorf by a Transportaion Supervisor for a company that delivers building materials for 84 lumber. When he saw it in the parking lot of IHOP, he went and got a camera to take pictures.
The car is still running as can be seen by the exhaust. A woman is either asleep or out cold in the front passenger seat. The guy driving it was jogging up and down Rt. 35 in the background. The witnesses stated that their physical state was other than normal and the police were just shaking their heads in amazement. The driver returned after the police arrived and knelt behind the car and began cutting off the twine. The police told him to get back until the load could be safely removed.
The materials were loaded at Home Depot. The manager stated he made the customer sign a waver.
Both back tires are trashed and the rear shocks were driven up through the floorboard. In the back seat are 10 80 lb bags of concrete. The total load was estimated to be approximately 3000 lbs. The car is a VW Jetta and the driver said he was headed to Annapolis.
