When I first visited Las Vegas in 2004, I thought I would just get some chips as momentos from each of the casinos I visited/played in, but then I thought, everyone gets the $1 chips and the $25 chips are much to high for me, so I settled on the $5's. Then I realized I had so many from my first trip (32) and liked the way they all looked and felt, so I decided to collect from all the Las Vegas casinos/resorts or establishments that had gaming. Then I also felt, chips that are used have a history, a life, they have seen action and not some dark drawer like the mint or uncirculated condition chips. Lastly, I didn't want limited, special, anniversary edition chips because they are made just for the purpose of being a momento, a novelty, or a keepsake for tourists or visitors. So basically, I collect Las Vegas $5 used, but relatively good condition house chips. My opinion, A Real Collectible. I would love to see your Las Vegas $5 house chip collection. I am still building my web site, trying to get a new scanner and a new PC. I'm up to 400 Las Vegas $5 house chips and counting...
P.S. Yes, James Campiglia had a lot to do with me collecting, since he sold me his 3rd edition autographed guide and I then realized, there were so many chips just from Vegas alone, that it was going to take awhile...
