Everyone is very friendly and will actively ask you what you collect. sometimes you both find a trade and sometimes you don't. As someone said earlier, sometimes you'll find some of their stuff you want and they'll find nothing of yours but some people will take something they don't want just to make a trade.

I do have some advice though - make sure you know the value of what you have. There is a very small minority - not more than five or so people - who trade to increase the value of their collection at the expense of yours. I will occasionally bring some obsolete chips - chips used in the 60's and they might have a value of $30 for a $1 chip. Anhy experienced chip collector knows that. Yet, they will use the phrase "I trade like for like " that's their code for saying they believe any $1 chip they pull from your binder has the same worth as any $1 chip you pull form theirs. The people I am talking about know what they are doing - I'm not talking about a greenhorn that sees a neat looking old design and wants to trade for it but doesn't realize it's value - these are people wanting to trade away their current $1 chip for your $30 valued chip knowing they are cheating you. there are many nice people in the club who will want to defend their members but these people are cheating others because they are experienced people that know a Circus Circus ringmaster chip is worth a lot more than a dollar but try to trade you a current $1 chip from across town for it.

As long as you don't have anything worth more than its face value or as long as you know the book value of your other chips you are fine - you are never pressured to trade.

It would be fun for us to rate each other as traders - people could have one to five stars - almost everybody would be four or five stars. Despite the few bad apples I love the trading sessions. Bring as much variety as you can.
