In Response To: rofl rofl LV-- El Morocco rofl rofl ()

Way back in the 1980s we used to stay at the La Concha, next door to the El Morocco. They gave us El Morocco fun books, so we'd run over for free popcorn or a beer or whatever. The casino was still open at that time, and it was a fun little place to pull a few slots! grin

Years ago we often travelled without having reservations for every single night, so we could wander around from place to place. For some reason we ended up staying at the El Morocco one night...by that time the motel had gone waaaaaaay down hill sad , and the casino had been closed for quite some time. After spending the night, we went out in the morning...I'm guessing for breakfast, and maybe to find a new spot to stay! lol! Anyway, we got back later than we'd planned, we went to our room to get our luggage and our keys didn't work! They required pre-payment for rooms, and since we hadn't checked out and hadn't pre-paid for the current night, they put a security lock on the door to make sure we couldn't use the room without paying for it! rofl rofl rofl (Of course, by then, I think some of their rooms were renting by the hour... sad )

Four or five years ago, based on so many strip buildings being blown up, we went out to what the El Morocco had become. Took some pictures...you can still see remnants of the casino...

I think this is where the Carving Cart restaurant was...
