Thanks to Terry Shaeffer who found this great coaster. George Raft was a tough guy actor in the same era as rival Humphrey Bogart. He became friendly with guys that were "connected". When his career in Hollywood was over he spent his best days as a greeter for the elegant (mob owned) Casino de Capri in Havana, Cuba until Fidel Castro closed down the casinos. During the New Year's Day 1958 revolution in Havana, mobs of citizens attacked the most visible American symbols - the newly (mob) built hotels and casinos. When the crowd came up to the Casino de Capri George Raft stepped out and in his best tough guy voice told them that they weren't getting past him. It worked, he saved the Capri, and the crowd moved on to their next target. He then went on to the (mob owned) Colony Club in London. The mob loved him, he was a big draw (money maker) for them. When he was expelled from England for his connections, he was no longer of any use to the mob and he spent the rest of his days quietly in the states where it is said that he died in poverty.
