Yes the El Cortez has the last single deck $5 minimum game with regular payouts etc. left in Vegas. Now the 4 queens had 2 $10 tables single deck and now I hear they are down to one. The El Cortez also had a DD game with favorable rules and it is a $3 minimum. Of course either of these 2 games if you spread your bet too much you will be escorted out of the casino.
I play the DD at the El Cortez and have fun. And if you're careful you can still spread your bet and also vary basic strategy and try to make a little. It's a nice place to play blackjack and have yourself a beer and relax.
I do post on the LVA paid side a lot. Very few people there know much about blackjack.
Of course if you do count cards its all about deck penetration and how well you can get away with spreading your bets. Adjusting the strategy some usually doesn't bring heat unless you do some out of the ordinary moves.
I will print up many DD decent rules (DAS) as they have at the South Point, strategy cards and bring them with me. Anyone want one I will have a bunch at Tuesday's night dinner.
I can tell you its 100% accurate unless Peter Griffin in his last edition of "The Theory of Blackjack" is wrong. On the Wizard of Odds web site you can also put in the rules of the game and get a colored basic strategy chart. I am sure there are another 10 web sites that also have this. I will save you all the trouble and bring the DD chart with me. This is the only game I play these days for various reasons. This game is also abundant at the South Point. I do believe the penetration of the DD game is poor though.
