Burgel was using ChipGuide images for his eBay auctions. He was asked to stop multiple times but refused. A claim was made against and he was banned for 6 months. The 6 months would have carried through to the convention. But his buddy and CCA President at the time ended the ban early so that he could participate in the convention.

However, a permanent ban from the CCA would have only come about if someone filed a claim against him for the non-authentic items he was selling and/or producing. But no one did. Don't blame the CCA, blame those who knew what he was doing, had been defrauded by him and never submitted a claim.
