I've been catching up on new construction project news happening around Las Vegas.
Of course, The Mirage is closing later this month, as Hard Rock takes over the property. A hotel, in the shape of a giant guitar to be built where the volcano now operates.
In addition the Best Western Casino Royale, directly across the LV Strip from Mirage/Hard Rock has also applied for new construction. The plan is to tear down BW Casino Royale and replace it with a 699 foot tall (~ 70 stories) hotel casino. Closing to be before end of this year, and construction beginning early 2025. Subject to final approval. (I hope they're planning for enough parking for a project of this size! Multi-levels underground?)
So, mid-Strip will have lots of construction for a while, it seems. I predict extra traffic congestion and many looky-loos! Pedestrian flow on both sides of the street likely a challenge too!
