I’ve volunteered to organize the CCA table at the SNCCC Fall Show Sep 20-21 and would love to have some help setting up and manning it. I plan to be present to open and close the table on both days, but would appreciate help getting items from storage, setting up the table, tearing down after the show, getting our stuff back to storage, and of course taking shifts during the show.
We should have multiple members at the table at all times. It looks better, allows multiple visitors to be helped at the same time, and gives the volunteers someone to talk to between visitors. I need to provide SNCCC with a list of helpers ahead of time so let me know if you can help ASAP.
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING? (This list includes my INTENTIONS, all of which are subject to board approval/denial)
The number one goal is to get non-members to become members. We will literally sign people up at the show, collect dues, assign membership numbers on the spot, and convey new member information to the membership chair.
We will also (hopefully) be able to process renewals, life memberships, and donations (monetary as well as items for next year’s auction, maybe?).
We will hopefully have club merchandise available for purchase and I’d like to be able to offer these items at a discount or even for free to new members who sign up for 1, 3, or 5yr terms.
I will ask the board to approve some kind of reward for the top recruiter (TBD). If that gets denied, you’ll get a hearty handshake (plus kudos) from yours truly, which is quite literally priceless.
We will have a “guest registry” where CCA members can sign in when they stop by, just to see how many do so.
We will have cards to get non-club member information to add them to the mailing list, newsletter list, and for contacting by membership volunteers to see if they’d like to join at a future date if they didn’t do so at the show.
If available, we’ll hand out (old?) copies of the club magazine.
We’ll hand out information cards with a QR code taking visitors to a link tree set up by the membership growth and retention committee.
WHAT WILL WE NOT BE DOING?
This is a CCA membership table. It will not be used by me or anyone else to stump as potential candidates for CCA elections. Volunteers should restrain from discussing support for potential candidates. Take those conversations elsewhere on the floor or outside the show floor. Please and thanks.
WHAT I’M ASKING OF YOU
Reply here or send me a DM or email, letting me know how you’d like to help and I’ll add you to the list. Let’s not have just one person at the table at a time. Let’s have a PRESENCE. The bigger the better. Get your CCA friends to join you. The show is free so hopefully that will cause a lot of legs to pass by our table.
Volunteers will receive SOME form of recognition. Not sure if it will just be your name on a thank you post or if I can get something more substantial approved by the board. It’s been said many times before, but this club runs on members volunteering their time and energy to the cause. If you haven’t volunteered to help in the past, let this be your first opportunity to do so.
If you are a dealer at the show, please help us by sending non-members over to sign up. Give them something (business card?) to show you referred them and you’ll get credit for the referral, even if you don’t do the actual signup or help man the table.
Thanks — Barry
