ccgtcc The room looks great!

I joined the setup team this morning at the crack of nine and much of the room was already setup by South Point staff. We volunteers quickly knocked out putting tablets on the tables, setting up the CCA merch booth, and setting out exhibit cases. I see a lot of the same faces in these volunteer positions every year. If you’re new to the club, hanging out with us “old timers” is a great way to meet other members away from the dealer tables with lots of time to chat, ask questions, and get a feel for things. There are still lots of ways you can help out this year. If you haven’t volunteered for anything yet, contact Scot or one of the board members, or just post your interest here and you will surely be contacted right away.

I’m looking forward to seeing all my old friends as well as meeting all of our new members. I look like the guy on the “businesss card” below and I’m likely to be wearing the same hat so I’ll be easy to find. You can tag along with me and I’ll introduce you to people so you won’t be a stranger very long.

Lastly, I want to thank Chris Carlson for all his work in storing, unpacking, and wrangling all of the setter uppers. Yes, that’s a word. I won’t be able to attend the volunteer banquet this year as I have to depart early Saturday morning, but I know it will be a blast as always. Note to others attending: Make it a point to sit with people you DON’T know and introduce yourself. If you’re a seasoned CCA’er, help the newbies feel comfortable.
