I have a couple growing im my yard - maybe 30 feet high by now, but bent over by the winds. Mine are cereus cacti, they have large white flowers that bloom only at night, followed by an oval seed, first green and then red. Supposedly these fruits are edible although I've never gotten the nerve to try one.

Unlike the saguaro, cereus are not protected; you can do anything you like with them!
