Bingo. The days of signing up new members by sitting at a table at small shows with a stack of flyers is gone.
Now, might there be some benefit to attend some of the bigger shows? Yes, BUT, I think it needs to be after a PR push by other, more modern means. People at the show should see the CCA table and say, "Hey, I've heard of that" instead of seeing it for the first time and walking on by.
As much as the CCA likes to run itself like the "good old days", that doesn't work for today's new "joiners".
Plopping someone behind a table at the ANA show wouldn't likely get many results. But put a couple articles in their magazine, amp up the benefits of club membership and lower annual dues and maybe you'd start seeing some action.
