New Issue 4 Queens $1 Chip from ICON, blemish...

The other day I stopped by the Four Queens to get some of their new issue $1 ceramic chips made by ICON. I stopped at a craps table that had no players and asked if I could get some. At first the dealers were reluctant (not realizing that there were new chips) but when one looked and found the newer version, they suddenly came to life and could not help me enough! Yes, they were tipped accordingly.

So, the newer $1's are intermixed with the older $1 chips in a ratio of about 4 new chips per stack of 20. I had asked for 20 chips.

When I got home, I looked at each chip, just to see if any had an error or abnormality, and sure enough, 2 chips showed an indentation, across one surface, in an arc. These are not scratches, they are very shallow indentations, with what appears to be the same arc and thickness, but not in the same positions on the chips. One is more pronounced than the other.

Interesting, eh?

Jim

The 2 chips at top, both have the blemish. running in an arc between the 2 arrows points. The one on the left is more pronounced and is used as the close-up in the lower portion of the image.
