I think there was another archiving of messages, and I wanted to update this thread, of sorts. Trying to keep the subject, in line, instead of randomly distributed month by month.
Last trip to Green Bay, Carter, and Lake of the Torches, I saw nothing new. We skipped Mole Lake and this month they have announced the return of Blackjack. There could be new chips!
Oneida Green Bay has a new $500 chip for anyone who does that kind of effort for The Chip Guide. That's beyond me.
In case you missed this. Yet another for Menominee Nation Casino - That would make Milwaukee, Carter (on the reservation) and Kenosha / Hard Rock.
February 6, 2024: The Kenosha County and the Menominee Indian Tribe signed an agreement today for the tribe to build a Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Kenosha,
The offset the loss of taxes and cost of local services, the Menominee Tribe agreed to pay Kenosha County a share of gaming revenues over the next 20 years. A minimum payment of $500,000 a year will be paid in the first eight years, and $1 million a year thereafter.
Details: "The Hard Rock casino will operate under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, which requires approval from the U.S. Department of Interior and the Wisconsin governor. Federal approval is expected in late 2024."
They intend to construct the entire project, at once, instead of in phases, which is projected to take 12-18 months. Pete predicts, if everything goes as planned, which usually doesn't happen, the casino might open middle to late 2026. Let me say, Maybe 2027.
