For many years, The Orleans Hotel Casino and Spa, when releasing rack/house chips, would include the date of issue (year only).

$5 chips were released in 1996, 1999, 2005, 2006 and then in 2011 with an inlay design change that added "Orleans - Las Vegas - NV - 2011", instead of just the year only.

In late 2023 they did a re-order of the 2011 $5 chip, in a quantity of 900 ($4,500 in face value) and them before the end of the year. In early 2024, they released the newer re-order chips by mixing them into the float. These re-order chips appear to be identical to the original 2011 issue. Even the UV-tagging is the same.

For the purists, I only know of one Dealer that has a supply of the re-order version, which if acquired, you might want to keep a note with it that it is the re-order version.
