I, for one, am looking forward to the last day that ballots can be postmarked. Then, and only then, will the nastiness stop.

James Hogg, please hang in there. No one bothered you until you were anointed as one of the “hated 4” (aka the CCA Board). Being elected or appointed, one becomes a target immediately. As a volunteer myself:

- I will continue my efforts with the growth committee
- I will continue efforts to admin/moderate the CCA message boards where half of the comments I see here would be deleted/quarantined with a heavy hand, which is surely why these posts don’t even attempt to be posted there
- I will fly in early and help set up the June event. I plan to deploy some new registration technology to speed people through the line
- I’ve proposed an electronic sign up for the June show, with QR-codes and links to several common payment services, and more. It’s been met with some (minor) resistance, and not enough time to overcome at this point, so that will have to wait for next year.
- I’ve created an all-encompassing electronic sign up process for new/renewal memberships. It can even handle MOGH membership. That also ran into some small setbacks, but again I’m hoping to get it implemented soon.
- I will man tables (not my own as I’m not having a dealer table this year).
- I will be (hopefully) be performing special duty at an event within the convention
- In general, I will try my best to modernize the club without losing the flavor from whence it came
- I will ask anyone who complains to please step up and volunteer themselves. Unless they do so, it’s like complaining about the President of the United States but not voting. Those people have no standing with me. Take that however you like.
- I will continue to appreciate the efforts my fellow volunteers have made and continue to make, in spite of the criticism thrown at them by those who don’t CURRENTLY lift a finger themselves.

May 25th will be a day of celebration. The first day of a blessed silence. The beginning of a pleasant 9 months until next year’s election when we will see a virtual copy/paste repeat of this year’s “campaign posts”.

What I try hard NOT to do in any of my efforts is b*tch and moan about my peers. I have not campaigned AGAINST anyone. Nor will you see me do this now. Or maybe you will. We’ll see. You might just break me.
