Charles,
All the points you have stated are valid. But as an owner of 9 businesses, all these items could be overcome. Start ups are not easy but if there is a will there is a way. I had commented that the MoGH Bod lacked the entrepreneurial spirit. Why else have things been so stagnant for all those years? I was preparing a proposal that would have been a prime location for a brick-and-mortar location only to be shot down before I actually could make the presentation. Only Steve Palumbo saw what I was proposing and agreed it could be feasible.
We were to raise the money with a Go Fund Me account. Also if you remember Sandra went around the room and asked if any of the board members were willing to contribute a donation to get this started. Everyone on the board except one made a verbal commitment to donate a sizable amount.
We didn't want to use any existing MoGH funds but rather start another drive. I had Special Plaques designed as incentives for different levels of contribution
You were to develop a video presentation. Steve was going to have his son make a detailed layout of the spaces in my proposal.
If you remember I was appointed to a fundraising position to fund all the necessary items needed. I had already garnered a pledge from a prominent Club member for a $10,000 donation which was retracted when the negative claims came at me during the election. Then Covid hit and put a stop to everything.
With multi-year plans, we could take things step by step and achieve a fantastic dream. There are so many well-known consultants on the advisory committee who have offered their expertise yet we do nothing.
The past is the past. How about implementing the ideas and directives from the action plan now? I would help if called upon.
Jerry
