Let me try and clear up some of the issues in this thread.
First of all the amount that was spent for Museum Consultant Sandra Harris was approximately $14,000 give or take not counting travel expenses for out-of-town directors. The proposal to create a business plan and an action plan was initiated by the then MoGH Chairman Mike Quinlivan. The proposal was presented to the MoGH board for discussion. When it came down for a vote by the MoGH Board I abstained on both levels. (I was the Mogh membership director and as the President of the CCA which I was the liaison). I was pressed by Mike Quinlivan to vote at this level, the reason I did not was because I wanted to discuss this with the CCA Bod. Other than my abstained vote the proposal was approved unanimously by all the Mogh Bod which included Charles Kaplan, Doug Smith, Jim Follis, Ross Popell, and Steve Palumbo.
The next step was to be approved by the CCA bod. Upon discussion, the entire CCA Bod voted unanimously to approve the proposal. My concern which I voiced was how we were to implement the plan. That message was conveyed to Mike at that time. Immediately after the action plan was presented the Chairman of the MoGH ( Mike Quinlivan) resigned and the Chairmanship was turned over to Steve Palumbo. Upon his passing, Charles Kaplan became the Chairman. To my knowledge up to now, nothing has been done to implement the business plan and the action plan. I had made calls to have 1,5,10 year plans developed which were never implemented.
The real issue here is whether there is any movement on using the Business plan and action plans in the future?
The money was approved to get the MoGH moving forward. All that voted believed that the MoGH was the future of our Club.
I still do and hope maybe this discussion can kick-start actions needed
