We called Barry yesterday to wish him an early happy birthday, leaving a message on his cellphone. He had been a frequent caller and we were worried that we hadn’t spoken with him in a number of weeks. Barry was an old California friend. We enjoyed visits to his Studio City office. Scott played poker there occasionally, serving as “the sucker” at the table. We’d enjoy tacos at Henry’s tacos near Barry’s office.
Always there were discussions about chips, collecting, and making a great club. Scott remembered Barry’s funny unique business cards at “the Agency” on which was stated “Barry Weintraub President - Even Days” and his partner, Dennis Fitch, had a card listing him as “President- Odd Days”. Of course Barry had another card for “Barry’s Chip Emporium” too. These are happy memories. It’s disturbing to lose another old friend but we cherish our memories and all our friends in the chip community. Stay well friends. Btw, found a picture of Barry playing poker at a CC and GTTC tournament but can’t figure out how to post it. If you know how, please let me know and I will post it. Our condolences to Barry’s son, daughter, their spouses and his grandchildren.
