Yes on some level you all all right. We don’t need a club to buy and sell and eBay is great for that
We don’t need a magazine but having it makes life better and collecting better as I know more ( by the way pdf the magazine and we still need club members to write the things we read and edit them)
Without a club and volunteers from that club we don’t have a show or events or cool speakers or members to help new people get into collecting We just end up with a small flat sales event
We don’t need badges for people but we need people to step up and the club helps with that. The club gives new people a place to come to and learn and gives older members a place to use their knowledge to better other people’s experience
There are unfortunate parts of the club like election fighting but we are passionate about the club and so we do fight for it but if it was not worth having a club it would fold quickly as it’s only held together by friendship and value of the club
I like to think of people and not the club. Rich ( who just passed) was a happy member of our club and I remember how he encouraged my daughter into collecting the stardust casino. He loved the hobby and collecting and people. He is why I am in the club
Overall join or don’t join, while there are still a few of us meeting there will always be a club. The real question is with more members passing away and less volunteering what will our club look like in 10 years time and maybe just maybe there will be less people to sell too?
Maybe ? But I have been wrong before and I might be wrong now but I think the club is the best thing for us all and we should get behind it
