Remember that in the United States, casino gambling starting in Nevada in the 1930's. There weren't any (legal) casinos anywhere else in the U.S. until 1979 when casinos started in New Jersey. However, during the post WW2 era up until the 1980's, if you didn't want to go to Nevada, the Caribbean had casinos throughout the islands. So the 2nd oldest casinos in the Americas, after Nevada, are from the Caribbean. And many of the Caribbean casinos were owned and/or operated by Mafia Boss, Meyer Lansky and his associates. Notice how chips from the oldest Caribbean casinos have that classic Vegas 1950's appearance. That's what makes old Caribbean chips so classy and desireable.
