Kinda sounded exactly like your point and I said (elsewhere) that there's nothing stopping anyone from cross-posting the info here. But it's one click away to view it on the official club message board, where ostensibly all club information should be posted. THIS (chip board) is NOT a club site. It's a privately owned, for-profit (I guess) discussion board. There's no obligation by the CCA board to post anything club-related here. It happens (a lot) and that's ok.
Lastly, it would seem to me that new chip collectors being "forced" to go to the club message board for info, seeing that there's a benefit to MEMBERS to access certain areas, would be an incentive to join. Cross-posting information that's club-specific on non-club boards offers zero incentive for new collectors to join. It's the old cow/milk theory, right?
Look, I see where you're coming from and you and I just have differing views of what should be restricted and what should not. Honestly, if the club forums would allow members to buy/sell, THAT would be a huge draw for people to go there (and join?). I'm sorry if I ruffled any feathers. Take up your cross-posting cause with the board if you feel strongly about it. In the meantime, I'm sure someone will take the time to post the germaine bits of info from the CCA boards here at some point.
Quote: "So you have to be a club member to see who is running on the club website and they will not even be cross-posted here on the open Chipboard?
Sure doesn’t make a lot of sense for a dying club wishing to attract new chip collectors, does it?"
